Muscle Relaxants Carisoprodol

Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxant. It works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain. Codeine is a pain reliever. Codeine is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics and it works by changing the way your body feels pain. Aspirin / carisoprodol / codeine is used, along with rest and physical therapy, to treat injuries and other painful muscular conditions. Aspirin / Carisoprodol may also be used for purposes other than those listed here.

| HOW TO TAKE THIS MEDICATION |
| Take aspirin / carisoprodol / codeine exactly as directed by your doctor. Take each dose with a full glass of water. The maximum amount of aspirin / carisoprodol / codeine you should take in one day is 1600 mg of carisoprodol, 2600 mg of aspirin, and 128 mg of codeine (eight tablets) |

| SIDE EFFECTS |
| Side effects, that may go away during treatment, include nausea, drowsiness, headache, or dizziness. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Also, check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience rash or itching. If you notice any unusual effects, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. |

| PRECAUTIONS |
| Do not take aspirin / carisoprodol / codeine if you have acute intermittent porphyria. Codeine is habit forming and should only be used under close supervision if you have an alcohol or drug addiction. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, an ulcer in your stomach or intestines, a bleeding or blood-clotting disorder, urinary retention, an enlarged prostate, hypothyroidism, a head injury, or Addison's disease. You may not be able to take aspirin / carisoprodol / codeine, or you may require a lower dose or special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listed above. Do not take aspirin and aspirin / carisoprodol / codeine without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant. Do not take aspirin and aspirin / carisoprodol / codeine without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Aspirin / carisoprodol / codeine is not approved for use in children younger than 12 years of age.

| OVERDOSE |
| If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual dizziness or drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, fainting, facial flushing, fast heartbeat, and loss of consciousness. |

| STORAGE |
| Store aspirin / Carisoprodol / codeine at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children. |
